PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:    

This STANDARD MARTIN HOUSE is a beautiful, 12 room CEDAR house designed specifically to house the purple martin. It comes FULLY ASSEMBLED and can be mounted to a sturdy round pole system or a 4x4 post system.  The entrance holes are the required 2" diameter and the individual compartments are approx. 6”x 6”.  The house is made of hearty cedar and assembled using all 3 fasteners….NAIILS, EXTERIOR GLUE, & SCREWS.  Mother Nature can be tough on outdoor items.  Using all 3 fasteners helps ensure that your item will hold together and remain strong. 

THIS MARTIN HOUSE IS RUGGED AND HOLDS UP WELL AGAINST THE WEATHER. The thick walls and sealed corners keep the baby birds and mother warm and dry. To clean out nests, simply remove a couple screws and the roof lifts off in one piece. Once the roof is removed, there is a top lid that comes off and the inner divider system pulls out so that the nests can be removed and interior brushed clean. A "Care and Maintenance" flier is included as well as information on "Making and Installing your own 4x4 post system". 

Also, if you wanted to use this house to accommodate birds other than martins and want a different hole size (ie: 1 1/2 " , etc, ) we would be happy to do it for you FREE of charge. Just let us know upon payment.

What’s Processing Time?  When a customer orders from us, we are currently working on prior orders. Since we make the items we sell (not a buy/ship seller), our days consist of building product, shipping, & email communications. These activities easily fill up a day and we need processing time to keep everything in balance and operating smoothly.  It's not your order that requires the 2 weeks but the orders prior to yours that are needing their processing.  Also know that we always try to move orders through for quicker arrival times.  However, we will not rush through an order for the sake of getting to the next one.  We want each customer to receive the quality item that they're expecting.  Thank you!

The Ark Workshop is a family owned business.  We initially were working in corporate healthcare but wanted a career that would enable us to spend more time as a family.  Taking a leap-of-faith,  we left our secure jobs and tried to find such a profession.   In between interviews, we kept busy woodworking and making unique items for our lawn and garden. Then one day, a passing motorist noticed one of our designs and stopped to see if we would be willing to make one for her. We agreed and, before long, we started getting a few more orders from others. After a while, we began interviewing less and building more.  Before we knew it, we had a couple weeks of orders and we started to consider the possibility of pursuing this as our occupation.  Through prayer and hard work, we started to grow this business and we call it THE ARK WORKSHOP  (after Noah and The Ark).  We give all thanks to God for allowing us to pursue this dream.  GIVE US A TRY so we can show you that we work hard to earn your business!

OPTIONAL FEATURES:  At the bottom of this page will be a way to choose options for your house.  When selecting an option below, simply check-mark the option and then type "yes" or "y" or "1" in the drop down box.  The option & amount will be added.  You can add/remove options as you wish.

 BASEPLATE: for $24.95 we will include a baseplate for the underside of your house.  It easily attaches to the house and makes mounting to a 4x4 post system very easy.  All hardware and instructions are included.

PERCHING/LANDING TOWER: for $15 we will include a perch/landing tower.  Martins like to perch high and be albe to see from all angles.  A tower helps with that.  It also serves the purpose for landing.  Martins are very aerial acrobatic birds and having a landing area will be very helpful to them.  It also is a great aid when trying to first get martins.  It encourages them to land and inspect the housing you are offering them.  Easily attaches to the top of an Arkworkshop house.  Instructions included.

CEDAR SEAL: for $69 we will seal the entire outside and underside of the house (the interior is not sealed and is kept natural). Cedar is one of the best woods to use for outdoor items. It is a wood that can expand and contract with warm and cold weather. It is a great insulator. After a period of time, cedar will begin to lighten to a silvery gray. However, if you want to keep cedar looking its TAN color longer, then a sealant is recommended. We use a product called CLEAR WOOD FINISH. It is low odor, water soluble, and penetrates deep into the pours of the cedar.......providing a clear coat of protection and preserving the tan color.
